Nag Tibba Trek

Overview

Nag Tibba Trek is the highest peak in the lesser Himalayan ranges in Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, locally it means Serpent’s Peak. It is situated at a height of 9915 ft., also known as Mussoorie Range. The trek got its name from goddess Nag Devta and it’s perfect for adventure lovers.This is an easy to moderate trek that can be enjoyed by children, family and friends etc. The total distance of this Trek is 15 kilometers.

Trekkers

You will see a range of scenery as you travel up one side of the mountain and down the other. This hike passes through deep forests, clearings, and a ridge walk.

This relatively obscure track near Mussoorie is ideal for trekkers from Delhi and the National Capital Region looking for a weekend adventure. This walk is ideal for beginners who want to get their feet wet in the world of trekking.

Best time to visit

This trek is best to visit in any month apart from the months of monsoon. In winters the temperature will be 14 to 22 degree (day) and 6 to 14 degree(night).

Routes  

First you have to reach Dehradun and from here on your Journey will start; then Dehradun to Pantwari village, from Pantwari village you have to start trekking towards camp. It will take 5-6 hours to reach the camp from Dehradun because the distance is 85 kilometers. After that the distance between camp to Nag Tibba is 4 kilometers, which will take 3-4 hours. You will be able to trek back by this route also.

Places To visit near Nag Tibba

•     Kempty Falls

This is a gigantic waterfall developed by a British man, it is a fascinating picnic spot near Mussoorie. It’s famous for its Milky water streams. And tourists like to enjoy rejuvenating baths under the 40 ft waterfall. The cold water and wind will refresh your mind and body. Boating is also available near the waterfalls and it’s just 15 kilometers away from Mussoorie, one can easily reach out. Good time to visit kempty fall is during Summers.

•     Kanatal

Ka natal is a small village and hill station and is Located in Garhwal Himalayas, surrounded by sun kissed peaks and trees. Kanatal is 78 kilometers away from Dehradun and 38 kilometers away from Mussoorie. Ideal place for camping, trekking and also perfect for meditation and natural photography.

Best time to visit Kanatal is from Apr to Oct and from December to February it receives fresh snowfall.

•     Nainbagh

Located in tehri district of Uttarakhand 12 kilometers ahead of Nag Tibba. And one can see this hill Village on the way to Yamunotri or Nag Tibba trek. It’s surrounded by Garhwal Himalayas and thick forests, one can find the wild beauty of uttarakhand. 41 kilometers away from Mussoorie. It’s easy and convenient to reach. 

The nearest railway station is Dehradun and the airport is Jolly grant.
